Alzheimer's and Dementia Care
The greatest fear faced by elderly persons and their families is that of diminished mental capacity. Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia, gradually deprives sufferers of their memories, personality and ability to perform simple everyday tasks. The burden of caring for such patients can be immense, particularly as time progresses.
CommuniCare staff will professionally and sensitively help alleviate this burden. By imparting knowledge and skills garnered from years of caring for such individuals and their families, our carers and nurses provide much needed respite care when family members need a break.
In addition, our comprehensive monitoring processes ensure that a client’s care plan changes as the illness progresses. We also provide information to help connect you with organisations and charities dedicated to helping patients and their families cope with Alzheimer’s.
Most importantly, perhaps, we offer the opportunity for a patient to be cared for in the surrounds of their own home – providing much needed comfort and access to living independence and dignity as long as possible. This considerably enhances their quality of life.
Please remember, you are not facing this disease alone. CommuniCare staff are here to help you.
