“We are fortunate to have a Health Care Assistant from Communicare, financed by the HSE. Our Care Assistant has supported my wife every weekday for over two years in looking after our daughter. Our daughter was born with an abdominal hernia and has had three major operations and a tracheotomy. Our Care Assistant is available each day to help my wife care for our daughter with suctioning, tracheotomy changing (must be done by two people), changing of a nasal-gastric tube, spoon-feeding and nasal-gastric feeding to a timetable, along with the general care that goes along with looking after a small baby / toddler. Having a daughter with medical problems is stressful at times and you need all the support you can get when small disasters happen all at once. This kind of support is very important especially in the early days. The support we get from our Care Assistant goes over and above our expectations and we are very glad to have her working with our daughter.”

“My carer comes each morning to help me come downstairs, dress, make my breakfast and to do whatever needs to be done in the house. She also comes every evening and sees me to bed. Depending on my state of health at any particular time, her duties can vary greatly. My carer is kind and thoughtful and I know I can rely on her arriving every day. She is very responsible and trustworthy and she knows when to contact my family if she is anxious about my health or any other situation. For me, the most valuable aspect of having a carer every day is the independence it gives me to remain living in my own home.”

“Our carer has a lovely caring nature. She comes to greet my mother and myself with a great happy smile. She arrives with our favourite cakes. My mother was suffering from pain in her feet, so our carer gave her a wonderful foot massage. She is very upbeat in her approach and my family are very happy to have her in our home. Our second carer is also helpful and pleasant at all times. She takes to my mother and makes her tea and sandwiches, or does some ironing of bed linen and makes the beds. I am very pleased to have two lovely workers in our home.”

“My uncle and I have found Communicare and all the staff there to be 100% customer-friendly and extremely helpful in all aspects of client care. As present, my uncle's carer calls to him every day. She is so good, very efficient at her job and is excellent with my uncle's care. She always has a smile and both of us are extremely happy with her. If there is an unforeseen problem or event, it is always solved by the office staff or the out-of-hours phone person. We have no complaints.
